Burnt Cheese Press was founded with the goal of connecting cooks and eaters alike through fun, approachable, useful, and innovative food-related media. 

BCP successfully funded its award-winning first release, The 8x8 Cookbook: Square Meals for Weeknight Family Dinners, Desserts and More--In One Perfect 8x8-Inch Dish, via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in 2015. Its second award-winning title, The Lemonade Stand Cookbook: Step-by-Step Recipes and Crafts for Kids to Make -- and Sell!, was released in 2017. The books are now available for purchase wherever books are sold or, for signed copies, directly through Burnt Cheese Press in the Shop. 

About the Founder

Kathy Strahs ~ Founder, Burnt Cheese PressKathy Strahs founded Burnt Cheese Press in 2015. A former marketer with a Stanford MBA, Kathy entered the food world first as a blogger (Panini Happy, Cooking On the Side and Sunny Days Good Food) and later as a cookbook author (The Lemonade Stand CookbookThe 8x8 Cookbook and The Ultimate Panini Press Cookbook).

Kathy has been named one of the top Mom Food Bloggers by Babble.com several times. She is also a frequent cooking contest judge, including the Grilled Cheese Invitational in Los Angeles and the World Food Championships in Las Vegas.

Kathy is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) and Les Dames d’Escoffier. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA).

Kathy, her husband Michael, and their two children live in the Silicon Valley.
